Chopta - Part 4
i saw a monal cross my path some way up. however, before i couldtake out the camera and get a snap, sheroo and kaloo chased her away. :-((
after some time, with the rising sun, the views got better n better. also, we started to gain some height and could check out the scenery for quite some distance.
pretty soon we got the first sight of the bugyals -- grassy meadows. it was a treat for the eyes. i think we reached the first bugyal around 7:00 am. we had soem tea and got a pack of buiscuits for the pooches.
the bugyals above chopta are very beautiful. if u really wanna enjoy them, then u should go and visit that place instead of just reading blogs :-)
the doggies (kalu and sheru) gave us good company. they actually led the way. sheru was behaving like the elder guide, being very serious and not deviating much from the path. kalu, on the other hand, was just scampering around everywhere, paying courtesy calls to all the other dogs we met on the way, sniffing in the bushes, etc.
the birds were chirping continuously. it provided for some good background music.
this was the first shop where we had some snacks n tea. i had brought lots of dry fruits with me (dates + cashewnuts). they were more than enough for me and mr. jagdish singh negi (my guide cum driver).
pretty soon the sunlight filtered down to the level where we were. the bugyals turned into a riot of colour. dark green, light green, bright green, etc, etc, etc ... mazaa aa gayaa.

Lovely photos - thank you! And I will visit there for sure :)
go man go :-)
dear lovely blog brother, man if you have visited gwaldam and have photographs of that place, do post them, my father used to live there, and when i were of school going age, we left gwaldam as their was no school at that point of time, but i remember that place, lots of childhood memories.
Even at 2011, the views of those huts are the same! Only difference is the pathway is now much better- full concrete!
