Chopta - Part 6
now u can see many clouds in these pics. the water that is flowing down the rivers in all these valleys slowly rises up due to the warmth provided by the sun rays (i guess it gets a solid dose of kinetic energy). slowly it forms into clouds which gather around the peaks. that is why it is imperative to leave at around 5:30 in the morning, when going for a trek in these areas. otherwise u migth miss the views.
in the distance is the alpine research institute .. a tiny speck in the snap above.
the senior babaji told me an amzing story when we took another halt at a small shop on the way. till 3 or 4 years ago he was not a baba, but a normal person like us. then he had an accident in which he injured his right leg badly. very very badly. the bones almost dissolved and the docs said that they will have to amputate his leg below the thighs. none of his relatives could come n visit him .. coz they lived in far off places like blore n hyderabad. he was in the hospital in allhabad. then one fine night lord shiva appeared in a dream. he told him not to worry about the leg. just apply the lord's vibhuti (a powder that u usually get in temples) on his leg (below the knee). also, he was instructed to give up the worldy attachemnts n becoem a sage. well, he did as instructed.
the chandrashila peak n temple coem into sight for the first time.
kalu hoping for a snack....he had eaten 1.5 packets of britannia already (greedy pig .. oops, i mean dog)
