Hello to all daajus and dagadus,
While on my trip home in the sumemr of 07, I came across an old book in the attic..Kumaon ka Itihaas (The history of Kumaon), written by my great grandfather, Shri Badri Dutt Pande.
Right now I am trying to make it online, so that the other pahadi guys n gals of our generation and get a comprehensive online account of the history of our region. As of now, very little online material exists in this direction. Hopefully, after the next few months, when I have finished uploading this book, there will be lots. It is an extremely captivating and well researched text and if u like history, then i am sure u will like it.

That is really great effort of you. I was searching online edition of this book for last 3-4 year. I had read this book in a library in Delhi so i was eager to read this online.

Felt really good to see our great grandfather's book online. I made her daughter,Saraswati Joshi,i.e, my grandmaother see it on the net & she was very happy to see her father's book online.

Wow, saraswati bua also found my blog? dude, i am very very very busy with office right now, so i guess i will not be able to work on this book for the next few months. but let things settle down here in the next few days and then i will put the whole book online (also, some more books are in the line).

First of all congragulations on the good work. This books has very few copies and it is good that you are bringing it online. However, I think your are not a direct descendent of Sh. Badri Dutt Pande. From the comments posted on this forum, It seems that you are Sh. B D Pande's, sister's or cousin sister's great grand son. I may be wrong but just curious. Can you please clarify? Not that it really matters, the work is excellent.

I saw a portion of your grand father's book in a seminar on environmental issues mainly related to global warming. There were some facts in it which defies concept of global warming with historical facts. i need this book, can you let me know where it is available?
