Munsyari Khalia Top Part 20
the left hand peak is nanda devi.
they organise skiing in these slopes in the winters. also, they r planning to build a lift till khalia. now that might seem like a grand idea. the skiing rates are approximately 50 bucks/person/hour.
panch chuli peaks
how was that hexagon formed??
johar and ralam valleys. someday i will try to go upto ralam village (in the valley on the right side). then advance from there to ralam pass. must have some stunning views around.
u can camp over here also. it is closer to the top. however, there is a problem of the water supply in this place. the place where we had camped (further below) had a stream next to it.
the panch chuli peaks
those peaks lie in the darma valley. the sunlight early in the morning makes it very very hazy.
this is the route from which u reach munsyari. the small village u see below is called 'quetee'. this is the place where we had stopepd for evening tea.
that little meadow on the left hand side is above the kalamuni temple. u can see if from the temple and from there it seems as if that meadow is the top of the hill.
bollywood, i'm announcing my arrival ;-)
i am not announcing anything :-)
the bigger of the panch chulis
the side from which we came up is pretty smooth. the other side is pretty steep.
nanda devi in the centre of the pic. she is surrounded by a wall of mountains and it is very difficule to reach her. however, there is a lesser known route from the martoli village. it takes 2 days to reach the nanda devi east base camp from martoli village. my guide has gone to the base camp on several occasions. thgat is another possible trek in the future.
this side is really pretty steep.
on this side lies nepal..beyond the horizon for now
where u see the small road is right above munsyari. on that side is thamari kund also.
nanda devi again
the whole nanda devi range
