Munsyari Khalia Top Part 22
ganga daaju, hero lag rahe ho ;-)
enter the villian :-))...uske bina movie pooree kaise hogee??
on a serious note, this guy is a really good guide, travel companion, cook and manager of treks.
we plan to do many more treks in the future. more so, in this area. will explore every valley, every river and every meadow. hope to climb a peak or two.
this pic was taken with metering mode. so u can see ho0w the centre is bright..and how the background, which is even brighter, becomes almost white.
ppl keep these stones on the top of the already existing pile .. to mark a successful journey. they also serve as path markers and are very important when u r travelling above glaciers, ettc.
it was almost 9 am and we were getting slightly hungry.
so we decided to go down shortly after that.
this jacket is short coz i had borrowed it from ganga ram. i had forgotten my last jacket in delhi airport (during the bedni bugyal trek). thus right now i am jacket less :-((
tiny lil me. great big himalayas. i think this is one place where u see how insignificant is everything man can do or achieve in front of what nature has made for us.
a few more shots of the panch chulis before we leave
the 5 peaks where the 5 brothers had their last meals. wonder if they cooked momos over there. yum yum.
trivia: dharchula near munsyari is famous for its momos. now, one of the momo chefs from dharchula has moved to munsyari. so u get lots of good quality momos in munsyari also.
besides that, there is a small restayurant in munsyari (i guess it is called bilju restaurant), where a family from darma valley makes momos. the cost of momos are around 2 bucks/momo. they usually make mutton or veg momos. chicken is not common in munsyari and if u want chicken momos, then u will have to order beforehand.
mutton is plentiful in this area. it helps in keeping the body warm over here.
i guess u must be familiar with the face of nanda devi by now :-)
peaks around burphu
ralam peaks
peak to the left of munsyari

Hi prashant,
just came back from Munsiyari.
One question: I stayed at kmvn, and i was wondering about a peak's name...from kmvn, extreme left to hansling...there is a peak which pops up every now and then...just the top of it...if you face the panchchuli, it will be in the direction of 30 degrees back from your left hand...do you know which is this peak? a kmvn guy told me it was nanda kot...
regards,
anurag
that is the peak u see to the left of nanda devi in these pics. it is not nanda kot. i think it is among those peaks that lie above the martoli village.
