Munsyari - Khalia Top Part 2
approaching almora. we got some good views. this place would be about 5 kms before almora.
almora isfamousfor its sweets n the ppl from that area lovesweets. i am a prime example :-). if u ever happen to go to this place, do try out the baal mithai and singhodee. my personal fave is the singhodee.
this is a view of pappersali - the other side of almora. the main town is on the other side of the rig#dge. u don't have to enter the main town, but take a bypass to barechinna.
some beautiful pine forests on the way. i guess i captured a biker also.
it was a pleasure, getting away from the heat n dust of chennai town and enjoying the cool mountain breeze on these roads.
from bade-chinna, u get some good views. this is a pic of ridge of mountains that surround nanda devi.
as u turn left, u will notice the panchchuli raNGE. we were to head in this direction. our ultimate destination, munsyari, lies on the base of these panchchuli mountains (well, near the base). darma valley is behind these peaks.
nanda devi is the tallest peak in the right side of the picture
here is another view of nanda devi. i could take a 1000 pics of this mountain n still not get tired. it looks so beautiful :)
another pic of panch chuli
trivia: panch chuli means five pots.
panch = five
chuli = earthen pots (in which u can cook food).
the pandava had cooked their last emals overhear. then they had gone to heaven from swararohini peak, which is nearby in garhwal. that is why the 5 panchchuli peaks are named after the pandavas, with the one of the left representing yudhishtir and the one on the right representing sahdev.
next, we passed through some of the lush green fields and forests of kumaon. this area is in between bade-chinna and dhaul-chinna.
pradyuman (the taxiwalla) is on the right. his brother on the left.
won't it be lovely to have a house in such a place
pine forests
some camera shy lil gals
i guess these chaps r real lucky to stay in a place like this. peaceful life. no worries about excels hashing out or trades not matching or monte carlo farms crashing, etc, etc.
house with a view. n london this would cost an arm and a leg. here..just a few fingers :-)
on the way to dhaul-chinna. a small stream below the road can be seen - just between the trees.
